Andriod in Sanskrit

Post by shanu05 » Fri Oct 06, 2017 5:11 am

Hi, yesterday I got a chance to watch Alien covenant movie. The android David fascinated me. I was wondering if I have to construct a Sanskrit equivalent of Android what would that it be? and ultimately what would be the PIE term ?

Since Android comes from Anar (man) + oid (appearance/likeness), then in Sanskrit Nara (man) + vat (appearance) so the final word Naravat?

The suffix "-oid" came from Greek -ο-ϝειδης from root "wid-" = "see", "appear".
